European Museum Night 2023

Welcome to Les Abattoirs!
Les Abattoirs, Museum - Frac Occitanie Toulouse, is a place of conservation, exhibition and promotion of modern and contemporary art. We are happy to open our doors to you exceptionally for one night. This will be an opportunity for you to discover or rediscover the temporary exhibitions through an eclectic programme!

Music and events:

• On the forecourt, DJ set by SoundFari, between soul, hip-hop, funk and latino.
• On the Hemicycle square, DJ set with Latin music.

Mediations and workshops in the exhibitions Liliana Porter and Tabita Rezaire:

• Workshops for children: family visit (adults and children) and/or library workshops for 6 - 12 year olds (on registration: reservations@lesabattoirs.org)
• 10-minute guided tours
• Guided tour
• Guided tour in French sign language
• Performance in French sign language by a choir of actors between poetry and dance

Animations:

• On the forecourt, mobile workshop: bike show and introduction to basic figures
• On the square, drawing workshop: collaborative fresco

Events / Meetings:
In the auditorium, carte blanche to PRIDE Toulouse: film screenings, discussions and committed performances

Public gallery:
Exhibition "Chimères": The "Chimères" series is part of the representation of marginalized queer identities and participates in the creation of an archive documenting our lives. It is part of a desire to illustrate our daily lives, absent from the life trajectories envisaged in the collective imagination. Indeed, the presence of trans identities in art and culture is still minimal.
