Admission + €4
The guided tour on Saturday, May 17 at 2:00 PM is cancelled.
The maximum number of visitors registered is 25.
You must register online at the following e-mail address: accueil@lesabattoirs.org
The visit will last approximately 1? hours. Meet 10 minutes before the tour in the "espace Frac", on your left as you enter the museum, where the guide will collect you.
The museum is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate disabled visitors and those with reduced mobility. Numerous benches and cane seats are available.
You can extend your discovery of the works of art in the museum's courtyards, which feature a trail of some fifteen sculptures, including a dozen mosaics by Fernand Léger, as well as in the Raymond VI public garden. The latter offers pleasant walks and a breathtaking view of the Garonne and the Bazacle ford.
From artwork to exhibition: secrets of hanging art
How do we perceive artworks in a museum and how do we put together an exhibition? Starting with a single artwork and its surroundings, come and discover the exhibition in a different way.
Unlike the guided tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which follow a set route, this activity allows you to first consider the chosen work not only in its own right, but also in relation to the space in which it is located and from a scenographic perspective. Then, based on this work, you can make connections with neighbouring works, as well as others located in various rooms, according to criteria ranging from iconography and technique to the artist's intentions, issues, art history, conditions of perception, etc.
Ultimately, the aim is to gain a better understanding of the issues at stake in an exhibition and how it facilitates access to the works, either consciously or subliminally.
From 4pm to 5pm on the following Fridays:
- 22 May 2026
- 05 June 2026
Admission + 4 euros
The number of registered visitors is limited to a maximum of 25 people.
You must register online at the following email address: accueil@lesabattoirs.org

Art and Fashion: A Dual Perspective
Based on Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s exhibition “L’imagination au pouvoir”
Friday 29 May at 4 pm
Spanning art, fashion, and popular culture, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s world has left an indelible mark on contemporary creation through its freedom and inventiveness. The exhibition invites visitors to discover his highly personal approach to clothing, which blends the subversion of conventions with the exploration of the imagination.
Les Abattoirs presents a dual-perspective tour led by Sabine Pressenda, a professor at ESI Mode in Toulouse, trained in fashion design and patternmaking at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and in art history at the University of Toulouse - Jean Jaurès. This session will offer a comparative perspective on Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s work to understand his place in fashion history, as well as the connections he forges with major stylistic movements and other contemporary designers.
Through discussion, observation, and reflection, this tour will also explore the scope of his visionary approach, addressing key issues for today’s creative landscape: commitment, sustainability, inclusion, and transmission.
Sound Reveries
Based on the exhibition ‘Assemblages. Taking Care of Things’
Saturday 13 June 2026 at 11am and at 1.30pm
The “Sound Reveries” tour invites you to slow down: to take the time to look, listen, perceive sounds and vibrations, and pay particular attention to the artworks, materials and gestures, as well as to the people around us and to ourselves.
For this tour, the second voice will be that of Kusuma Gunawan, a sound therapist and meditation practitioner. She accompanies her sessions with instruments such as Tibetan bowls, gongs and crystals, creating sound experiences that foster presence, relaxation and sensitivity to the environment. For several years, Kusuma has been developing workshops and sessions in sound therapy and sound meditation, combining listening, vibrations and contemplative practices to awaken the senses and awareness of the present moment. Her unique approach allows visitors to perceive the art and the museum space in a different way, in a dimension that is both physical and sensory.
A moment suspended in time, where sound resonates with the works in the museum’s permanent collection, bringing together art, music and the gaze.
Comfortable clothing is recommended.
Families and children of all ages are welcome.
