Guided Tour

Discover all the tour offers

Starting December 13, guided tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 p.m. will focus on the exhibition: “Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. L'Imagination au pouvoir”.

Admission + €4

The guided tour on Saturday, May 17 at 2:00 PM is cancelled.

The maximum number of visitors registered is 25.
You must register online at the following e-mail address: accueil@lesabattoirs.org

The visit will last approximately 1? hours. Meet 10 minutes before the tour in the "espace Frac", on your left as you enter the museum, where the guide will collect you.

The museum is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate disabled visitors and those with reduced mobility. Numerous benches and cane seats are available.

You can extend your discovery of the works of art in the museum's courtyards, which feature a trail of some fifteen sculptures, including a dozen mosaics by Fernand Léger, as well as in the Raymond VI public garden. The latter offers pleasant walks and a breathtaking view of the Garonne and the Bazacle ford.

How do we perceive artworks in a museum and how do we put together an exhibition? Starting with a single artwork and its surroundings, come and discover the exhibition in a different way.

Unlike the guided tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which follow a set route, this activity allows you to first consider the chosen work not only in its own right, but also in relation to the space in which it is located and from a scenographic perspective. Then, based on this work, you can make connections with neighbouring works, as well as others located in various rooms, according to criteria ranging from iconography and technique to the artist's intentions, issues, art history, conditions of perception, etc.

Ultimately, the aim is to gain a better understanding of the issues at stake in an exhibition and how it facilitates access to the works, either consciously or subliminally.

From 4pm to 5pm on the following Fridays:

  • 09/01/2026
  • 06/02/2026
  • 13/03/2026
  • 03/04/2026
  • 22/05/2026
  • 05/06/2026

Admission + 4 euros

The number of registered visitors is limited to a maximum of 25 people.

You must register online at the following email address: accueil@lesabattoirs.org

Les Abattoirs offers a dual-voice tour that allows you to discover the works in a different way, in a convivial atmosphere combining discussion, listening and sensory experience. Come and experiment, awaken your senses, react or simply slow down, with a museum mediator and a guest speaker.

Sound reveries

Based on the exhibition ‘Assemblages. Taking care of things’

Saturday 10 January 2026 at 2pm

This January, Sound Reveries invites you to slow down: take the time to look, listen, perceive sounds and vibrations, and pay special attention to the works, materials, gestures, as well as the people around us and ourselves.

For this tour, the second voice will be that of Kusuma Gunawan, sound therapist and meditation practitioner. She accompanies her interventions with instruments such as Tibetan bowls, gongs and crystals, creating sound experiences that promote presence, relaxation and sensitivity to the environment. For several years, Kusuma has been developing workshops and sessions in sound therapy and sound meditation, combining listening, vibrations and contemplative practices to awaken the senses and awareness of the present moment. Her unique approach allows visitors to perceive the art and space of the museum in a different way, in a dimension that is both physical and sensory.

A moment suspended in time, where sound resonates with the works in the museum's permanent collection, bringing together art, music and the gaze.

Comfortable clothing is recommended.
Families and children of all ages are welcome.

"Imaginsation at work" by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac

Saturday 7 February 2026 at 2pm

Saturday 14 March 2026 at 2pm

Are you curious to see the current exhibitions from a different perspective?

Come and enjoy a convivial moment and discover the works in a new way: experiment, awaken your senses, react or simply slow down, with a museum mediator and a guest speaker.

For this tour, the second voice will be that of university doctoral students, informed by their readings, research and questions.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, a visionary fashion designer and protean artist, has made imagination a veritable manifesto. Through nearly 300 pieces—clothing, design objects, drawings, photographs, and installations—"Imagination at work" offers an immersive journey into his universe, where fashion, art, music, history, pop culture, and childhood are in constant dialogue.

His work blurs the boundaries between disciplines and turns clothing into a space for poetic, critical and playful expression, spanning six decades of creation. The exhibition invites visitors to grasp Castelbajac's creative power, his ability to transform materials, ideas and codes to imagine another way of conceiving fashion as a total art form.

Students studying art history at Lycée Saint-Sernin are offering guided tours of the exhibition "Assemblages. Taking Care of Things" from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, 29 and 30 November, and 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 December 2025.
