As part of the exhibition “L’Imagination au pouvoir” and as a follow-up to the “Métamorphase” roundtable discussion featuring Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Maroussia Rebecq, and SoulOfDesigner, fifteen students from the Institut Myriam’s BTS in Fashion Design are presenting a collection inspired by the designer’s world. Centered on the theme of protection, their designs explore textiles through techniques of assembly, repurposing, and transformation of materials, echoing Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s signature aesthetic.

This fashion show is the result of a dialogue that took place over several months between the students and Castelbajac, fully integrated into their curriculum. This project aims to foster the students’ autonomy, creativity, and cultural openness, while strengthening the ties between education and artistic institutions. Conceived as a convergence of fashion, music, and contemporary creation, this project is part of a shared ambition: to foster a dialogue between education and creativity.

It involves first-year students, who are engaged in the creation of accessories, with the support of the duo Brigitte Tanaka—known for their artistic approach to repurposing—and as part of a partnership with the MJM Graphic Design school.

Live Concert by Franck Aïm & Tiger Tiger
Franck Aïm and Tiger Tiger will perform live to accompany the runway show, echoing the collection and the exhibition. For this event, the two artists have composed a dozen original songs specifically for the occasion, in collaboration with Lone Kent.

The Fashion Department

The Myriam Institute offers several programs: the CAP MMVF (Fashion and Ready-to-Wear Trades), the Bac Pro MCC (Sewing and Garment Manufacturing Trades), as well as the BTS in Fashion and Garment Trades, which trains advanced technicians specializing in the apparel sector, capable of designing garments and organizing their production.

They were supported throughout the year by the school staff, particularly by Françoise Rumeau, a teacher of Fashion and Apparel Design, and Julie Malacan, a teacher of Applied Arts and Artistic Cultures.
