Kobe Van Cauwenberghe: guitars, electronics, voice

Ghost Trance Music (GTM) is a set of compositions specifically designed to function as bridges between the different musical systems of American composer Anthony Braxton - between notation and improvisation - between the past, the present and the future. In Ghost Trance Solos, Kobe Van Cauwenberghe explores the full range of GTMs in order to generate what Braxton called 'a field of activity' in a solo context. Kobe has developed an intuitive setup using loops and live electronics so that several layers develop simultaneously and spontaneously.

Guitarist Kobe Van Cauwenberghe is dedicated to contemporary music and performs all over the world. In addition to his solo activities, he is a founding member of the electric guitar quartet Zwerm. Currently, he is also a doctoral student at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp where he is conducting research on the music of composer Anthony Braxton.
In 2015, he released his first solo CD on the New York label Carrier-records, which received international acclaim in Wire Magazine and others. In 2017 he created the No [more] Pussyfooting project, featuring arrangements of pieces by Brian Eno and Robert Fripp, with which he toured various international venues and festivals. In 2020 he released his second solo album, Ghost Trance Solos, dedicated to the music of Anthony Braxton, on the London label All That Dust.
