Guided Tour
From August 26 through September 30, the guided tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 p.m. will focus on the exhibitions located in the basement galleries.
Admission + €4
The guided tour on Saturday, May 17 at 2:00 PM is cancelled.
The maximum number of visitors registered is 25.
You must register online at the following e-mail address: accueil@lesabattoirs.org
The visit will last approximately 1? hours. Meet 10 minutes before the tour in the "espace Frac", on your left as you enter the museum, where the guide will collect you.
The museum is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate disabled visitors and those with reduced mobility. Numerous benches and cane seats are available.
You can extend your discovery of the works of art in the museum's courtyards, which feature a trail of some fifteen sculptures, including a dozen mosaics by Fernand Léger, as well as in the Raymond VI public garden. The latter offers pleasant walks and a breathtaking view of the Garonne and the Bazacle ford.
From artwork to exhibition: secrets of hanging art
How do we perceive artworks in a museum and how do we put together an exhibition? Starting with a single artwork and its surroundings, come and discover the exhibition in a different way.
Unlike the guided tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which follow a set route, this activity allows you to first consider the chosen work not only in its own right, but also in relation to the space in which it is located and from a scenographic perspective. Then, based on this work, you can make connections with neighbouring works, as well as others located in various rooms, according to criteria ranging from iconography and technique to the artist's intentions, issues, art history, conditions of perception, etc.
Ultimately, the aim is to gain a better understanding of the issues at stake in an exhibition and how it facilitates access to the works, either consciously or subliminally.
From 4pm to 5pm on the following Fridays:
- Friday 9 October
- Friday 6 November
- Friday 18 December
Admission + 4 euros
The number of registered visitors is limited to a maximum of 25 people.
You must register online at the following email address: accueil@lesabattoirs.org
