Programme

14:30 – Khamsin
By Grégoire Couvert and Grégoire Orio

Screening (1h07) / In presence of the directors

This intense documentary plunges our souls and ears into contemporary Lebanon as seen by a community of experimental musicians. In a difficult social and political context, these musicians make their compositions resonate like others make the wind of the revolution blow. Their truth bursts forth like a heady feedback that extends into splendid improvised sequences with the French musicians Oiseaux-Tempête. An incandescent and highly political film.

16:30 – Bring Down the Walls
Phil Collins

Screening (1h28)

The American prison system seen through the prism of house music; British artist Phil Collins and several activities organise an event in New York, in May 2018, where former prisoners and social workers take turns at the microphone. They all attack the prison industry and its system of discrimination. When the night comes, the space turns into a raging dancefloor, dedicated to house music. Genders, classes, sexualities... The liberation of bodies responds to that of speech. An original social and musical experiment, in a committed and flamboyant film.
