Roots and Currents

"Roots and Currents" is a poetic exhibition centred on artistic themes linked to the Canal du Midi and the values championed by UNESCO: freedom, peace, forging connections, biodiversity, identity, landscape and local people.

This exhibition brings together works by artists who explore and interweave the relationships between nature, memory and place. Through various artistic forms — painting, photography, installation and video — the works invite a sensitive reflection on the roots that anchor us and the currents that connect us. Between real and imaginary landscapes, human narratives and living ecosystems, ‘Roots and Currents’ offers a poetic dialogue between heritage, contemporary creation and perspectives on today’s world.
