Nina Childress

Artist: Nina Childress

The exhibition features works by Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA, Les Abattoirs, Musée - Frac Occitanie Toulouse and Frac Occitanie Montpellier in partnership with the Communauté de Communes du Couserans -Pyrénées.

Nestling in the heart of a small village at the foot of the mountains, Château de Seix is a building dating from the late 15th century. Listed as a historic monument, it houses three themed floors devoted to the heritage of the Couserans region, as well as temporary exhibitions of the visual and plastic arts. It is in the heart of this former residence that the artist Nina Childress has been invited to work on the theme of intimacy. Here, she is evoking the hearth in its noblest sense: it was around the fire and the house's only room that knowledge, traditions, social life and intimacy were mixed and shared. Outside is the land of dreams... Inside is the place of truces. The exhibition presents a series of paintings of interiors and intimate life, where visitors are invited to settle down as if they were at home.
