Ink Dreams

“Dreams of Ink” explores the fruitful connections that contemporary artists maintain with writing and literature in all its forms. Ink, the link between these two practices, serves as the common thread of this exhibition, where text inspires sensory forms, where language blends into color and lines, and where words become symbols. The public collections of Les Abattoirs, Musée – Frac Occitanie Toulouse and the Artothèque du Lot come together, offering a mosaic of evocative and unique works.

At the Salviac media library, tales and mythologies unfold through drawings, prints, and objects that evoke the world of wonder, childhood, and legendary figures.

In Cazals, comic books and science fiction open the door to parallel worlds, where humor, the absurd, and forward-looking imagination reshape our relationship with reality.

In Frayssinet-le-Gélat, the works engage in a dialogue with letters, poems, and wordplay, in an exploration where text becomes image and image becomes writing.

Finally, at Ostal Rampoux, the exhibition takes the form of a graphic narrative, where each clue sketches out a possible path for the viewer.

From ancient mythology to contemporary fiction, from reimagined medieval manuscripts to the most free-spirited visual narratives, this 11th edition of the fall exhibition by Les Ateliers des Arques invites visitors to cross the boundaries between the arts and rediscover the power of the imagination.
