The Toulouse and Midi-Pyrénées Film and Human Rights Festival (FCDH) is supported by a collective made up of local representatives of 7 international solidarity associations in the Midi-Pyrénées: Amnesty International, CCFD Terre-Solidaire, ACAT, L'école des droits humains et de la Terre, Les Amis du Monde diplomatique de Toulouse, Médecins du Monde and Médecins sans Frontières.
The aim of the festival is to raise public awareness of the problems linked to the defence and promotion of human rights and to reflect together on ways to act. This year, the films presented deal with subjects as diverse as the right to protest, the fight against pesticides, Russian threats, the life and death of migrants, the Palestinian conflict, the abolition of the death penalty, women's rights in psychiatry and other themes... The Festival will screen 15 films between 7 and 22 January 2023, spread over some thirty screenings and ten communes in the Western Occitania. Each screening will be followed by a lively debate with invited experts.
Nous Tous
Documentary directed by Pierre Pirard, 2021 - Belgium (1h31)
The evolution of human rights is certainly not quiet and harmonious. Discrimination, confrontation, exclusion and stigmatisation still flourish in many parts of the world. But what if, far from the tensions surrounding questions of identity and the fear of the "other", we showed other realities? What if we told the stories of daring citizens who, with a view to a harmonious life between people of different beliefs, reinvented the family, education, social relations, culture, work... and this despite the existing difficulties and tensions? In Nous tous, an enlightening documentary, thanks to these stories gleaned from the four corners of the planet, we can see what could be a multi-identity and yet harmonious world? In Bosnia-Herzegovina, Lebanon, the United States, Israel, Indonesia and Senegal, there are many examples of resilience, reconciliation and "humanising" action initiatives that are presented here. We follow Nudzjema, Rorri and Arif, Ella and Miska, Palmarin, Kemal or Léa, luminous, benevolent and charismatic characters
