Dancing and caring
Closing of the 1st Arts and Care Reflection Day

Conferences, videos and dance performance at the end of the study day "Trajectories of plastic production from art-mediated psychotherapy workshops".
If we were to free ourselves from our own inhibitions we could dance everywhere, dance no matter what, dance to express ourselves, to feel good or to be with others. We could also choose to use dance in a therapeutic setting, to alleviate the symptoms of an illness or disability. Through three dance experiences, we propose to think of dance beyond art, to think of it also as care.
A brief introduction defining the care framework of each of the therapeutic proposals will be followed by two videos and a dance performance.
- Claire Cherrière (Clinician and researcher at ASEI and Inserm, dancer and choreographer) will present "Douces découvertes", a video-dance resulting from a dance camp for young teenagers followed for a motor disorder at the CHU Sainte-Justine in Montreal,
- Marie Charras (Psychiatrist at the Louise Bourgeois day hospital (CHU Toulouse), dancer) will present "Gravite", a video-dance resulting from a Body workshop for people with a mental disorder and presented for the Big Bang exhibition (Halles de la Cartoucherie, 2019),
- Sylvia Hloschek (Psychologist) will present the work carried out by the Tuesday therapeutic workshop at the Permanence d'Accès aux Soins de Santé psychologique (PASS - psy) of the Toulouse University Hospital. It is based on the need to reinvest one's body in order to regain a sense of belonging and is aimed at people suffering from psychotrauma. A dance performance with the patients and carers of the unit will then be proposed.
