The field of possibilities
Since 2015, Les Abattoirs, Musée – Frac Occitanie Toulouse and Résidence Caroline Baron have been presenting an annual exhibition of contemporary artworks at the retirement home.
From the theme to the hanging, the residents were at the heart of this exhibition project, which they brought to life with their thoughts and sensibilities. This initiative highlights the importance of building cultural projects with the people living in the residence, preserving their ties with the city and, more broadly, with society.
This exhibition reflects the complexity of the relationship between science and art. Because they do not share the same subject matter or methods, these two fields are often opposed. However, art history finds parallels with the history of science and technology. Even today, science opens up new possibilities, giving artists the keys to understanding the world.
