Clara Gaget

His artistic project, Nous tournoyons dans la nuit, et nous voilà consumés par le feu (We spin in the night, and here we are consumed by fire), offers a figurative imaginary representing a two-dimensional world without depth, providing an immersive experience where viewers can move around the works to discover their full complexity. This project incorporates an architectural and furniture dimension, highlighting creation and materiality. It consists of engravings, frescoes, engraved objects, and object images. Its immersive exhibition uses objects and language to create a complete artistic experience that revolves around three axes:

His figurative universe draws both from a collective iconographic heritage and from the depths of an intimate phantasmagoria, placing his work in a lineage that winds its way from medieval iconography to contemporary psychedelia. These are mixed with symbols that are as familiar as they are saturated, as strange as they are monstrous. These archetypal elements are arranged in landscapes without a reverse side, interiors without a place, and linked to each other by the recurring motifs of an approximate geometry.

Clara Gaget :

Clara Gaget was born in 1993 in Castres and grew up in Revel. She currently lives and works in Morbihan. Since April 2022, the artist has been teaching applied arts. At the same time, Clara Gaget has been a member of the B612 workshops in Rennes, where she has been working on creating a shared engraving workshop.

In 2023, she exhibited Un envers at Le Tempo in Vézin-le-Coquet; in 2022, she was artist-in-residence at the IC.ON.IC festival in Amiens, where she created a fresco and a polyptych. She also received the STAMPA Grant for engraving in 2022 from ADAGP/BNF. In 2024, Clara Gaget won the Mezzanine Sud des Abattoirs Prize.
