Guided tours

Our guided tourslet you get the most out of les Abattoirs. Enabling you to experience the art in full and gain a deeper understanding of works on display, taking a guided tour is a wonderful opportunity to share and exchange ideas. All our visits are in French.

Guided tours take place on :

- Wednesday at 2.30 pm
- Saturday at 3 pm

The number of registered visitors is limited to a maximum of 25 people.

On Saturday 23 October, Wednesday 27 and Saturday 30 October on the “Déconniatrie” exhibition.

Then, from Wednesday 3 November until 16 January 2022, the visit for individuals will focus on the “Déconniatrie” exhibition every Saturday and on the “The Lady and the Unicorn” every Wednesday (no more availability until the end of this exhibition).

During each session, you will be given a guided tour of the temporary exhibition or of part of the museum's collection.

The museum is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate disabled visitors and those with reduced mobility. Numerous benches and cane seats are available.

The meeting point is 10 minutes beforehand in the "Frac space", on your left at the entrance to the museum, where the guide will come and get you.

You can extend your discovery of the works of art in the museum's courtyards, which are embellished with a trail of some fifteen sculptures, including a dozen mosaics by Fernand Léger, as well as in the Raymond VI public garden. The latter offers pleasant walks and a breathtaking view of the Garonne and the Bazacle.

As part of the partnership established between Les Abattoirs and the Saint-Sernin High School, two students (literary preparatory school, art history option) who are interns at the museum, offer guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays from October 2021 to June 2022.
These visits take place from 2 to 3 pm and focus on certain works and artists presented in the current exhibitions.
The tours will last approximately 20 minutes and will be educational and lively, allowing the public to discover and understand modern and contemporary art.

- Thursdays (except during school holidays) from 6pm to 7pm, with the museum guide

- Thursdays 7 October and 9 December 2021, 17 February and 9 June 2022, at 4:30 pm, for visits by student mediators

A specific mediation service for students is offered for current exhibitions. A real encounter with the works of art, this meeting is a time to exchange and share.

The visits on 7 October, 9 December 2021, 17 February and 9 June 2022, given at 4:30 pm by students from the literary preparatory classes of the Saint-Sernin High School, replace the evening visits (6-7 pm).
