The new presentation of the Daniel Cordier collection draws on works that echo the landscape experience, even when, pure abstractions or simple forms, they are not a direct representation. Last year, Les Abattoirs acquired 9 works derived from the 40 Portraits and Through their Tears series. On the occasion of the presentation in early April of the play Jerk at the Théâtre Garonne, Les Abattoirs are presenting a series of photographs and a film by the artist that encourages the audience to go beyond appearances and follow the theme of a world on the brink of collapse. This exhibition, originally planned at La Fabrique on the university site, was made inaccessible by social protest movements leading to the total blockage of the university. As a result, a new proposal for the exhibition, in a new light, is presented to the Abattoirs. Read more

LabBooks is a research program that aims to broaden the notion of writing to all dimensions of editorial practice. The exhibition aims to both re-enact the work carried out in 2016-2017 by students from isdaT participating in this research project and to set up a context and tools to pursue and deepen it. A free festival dedicated to contemporary creation in all its forms, Le Printemps de Septembre invests every two years nearly 25 partner locations in Toulouse, in its agglomeration and in the Occitanie region. Its Fracas et Frêles Bruits edition brings together the works of nearly 80 international artists, many of whom will be produced specifically for their venues. Read more

Bibliothèque des Abattoirs
The Bibliothèque des Abattoirs hosts an exhibition dedicated to Béatrice Cussol. Renowned for her drawings, the artist (born in Toulouse in 1970) is invited to occupy the venue, as well as presenting a collection on books, including her novels and some of her collage notebooks, acquired last year by Les Abattoirs. This first French retrospective by Dutch artist Jacqueline de Jong (born in 1939) offers a panorama of her creation since her historic artworks of the 1960s, her membership as an International Situationist, her role as editor of The Situationist Times and her participation in the events of May ‘68, through to her most recent works – paintings, books or jewellery. This prize has accompanied and showcased artists in the field of contemporary creation since 2014.  It awards three young artists from the Occitania region through their participation in the Mezzanine Sud exhibition held annually by Les Abattoirs. The 2018 winners are Mazaccio & Drowilal, Marie-Luce Nadal, and Agathe Pitié.
